Lorain County joins state effort to aid fathers with seed grant

Lorain County was chosen among 12 Ohio counties to create a countywide fatherhood program and receive a $10,000 one time seed grant. Ron J. Clark of the National Fatherhood Initiative urged broader support for fathers, noting $100 billion in 2006 government assistance linked to absent dads. Local leaders cautioned that money alone won’t solve the issue and must combine agency, volunteer, and faith community efforts amid budget constraints.
