Execution date sought for motel clerk killer in Ohio
Prosecutors ask the Ohio Supreme Court to set an execution date for Ronald Ray Post 51 who exhausted appeals after a 1983 Slumber Inn robbery murder of hotel clerk Helen Wantz in Elyria. Post pleaded no contest in 1984 to aggravated murder and aggravated robbery and was sentenced to death in 1985.

Vermilion man dies in head-on crash with school bus
Police say a 72-year-old Vermilion Township man likely suffered a medical emergency before a fatal head-on crash with a school bus. Jack A. Strehle was pronounced dead at 3:11 p.m. after being taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center. Coroner says multiple medical issues are present and cause of death is under investigation.

Attorney faces gun charge after March traffic stop
Elyria defense attorney Mike Kinlin was charged in March with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle for allegedly failing to promptly tell a trooper he had a gun in his car during a drunken driving stop.
