California and Nevada hit by twin 6.0 quakes near Mammoth Lakes
Two strong earthquakes centered 180 miles east of Berkeley near Mammoth Lakes rocked California and parts of Nevada. Seismologists said aftershocks followed as hundreds faced damage, injuries, and roadblocks from Sacramento to Los Angeles. Local officials declared a state of emergency in Mono County and Convict Lake area.

Avon man missing in Lorraine area boating accident
A 26 year old Avon man Steven Zegarac is missing and presumed drowned after a boating accident Saturday night off Elyria Water Works. His passenger Mark Zerib was rescued. a Coast Guard and sheriff search failed to locate Zegarac. Both men reportedly wore no life jackets. The boat was recovered circling the area while police and firefighters dealt with a city walkout underway.
