Human fly scales New York World Trade Center
A 28-year-old daredevil George Willig of New York climbed the 110 story World Trade Center in a 3 hour 35 minute ascent. He reached the roof and was arrested as police helicopters circled above. Willig refused a rescue bucket transfer and waved to cheering crowds 1350 feet below. The stunt echoed Philippe Petit’s 1974 aerial walk between the towers.

Democrats Propose New Ohio Congressional District Boundaries
In Columbus the Ohio Senate hosts a Democratic redistricting bill altering the 13th and 17th districts. Rep. Don Pease would gain Huron County and parts of Medina and Erie, while Rep. John Ashbrook would lose Coshocton and Huron counties. The plan shifts incumbents, aims to create solid Democratic districts in Columbus and Cincinnati, and carves a new district across Miami, Montgomery, Clark, and Greene counties.
