More than 1,000 Eastland residents were evacuated after a Missouri-Pacific freight train hit an 18-wheeler at a crossing. The blast injured over a dozen, with one critically burned, and razed three buildings while prompting a disaster declaration. A propylene gas tank burned, but officials said further explosions were unlikely.
