Eastland Train Crash Triggers Mass Evacuation in Texas
A Missouri Pacific freight train hit an 18 wheeler at a crossing near Eastland Texas causing a fireball and toxic fumes. More than 1 000 residents were evacuated including 15 nursing home tenants and 17 jail inmates as authorities guarded against looting and a propylene gas tank burned with minimal further explosion risk. The crash injured multiple people including a truck driver in critical condition and the incident shut down the town of about 3 700 residents.
