Montana Flood Waters Subside Evacuations Continue
Flood waters receded across Montana as hundreds evacuated from low lying areas. Belt Creek closed, while Cascade County residents began returning home with sewer and water systems still out. Gov Schwinden planned to seek federal aid as disaster totals climbed into the millions. About 208 displaced at Deer Lodge and 150 at Clinton and Tarah sought shelter as rivers receded.
