Cars collide killing Ridgeville woman on Rts 57 and 76
A 38 year old Ridgeville woman Mrs Loretta Ward died after a two car crash at the intersection of Routes 57 and 76 on the way to a family picnic. Her husband Joseph Ward drove the other car with wife Loretta Ward in it. Two others were hospitalized and several treated for minor injuries. The Hess car driven by Ida Hess turned left into the Ward vehicle. The crash occurred about 3 20 p.m. and is under state patrol investigation.

A Delta Air Lines flight carrying 96 passengers and six crew members was hijacked after takeoff from Atlanta, diverted to Havana, and landed at Jose Marti Airport at 8:23 a.m. EDT. Nixon seeks raise in debt ceiling
