A measure fast tracked by lawmakers adds scrutiny for families taking in five or more children and creates a centralized state adoption registry. The bill responds to a Huron County case where 11 adopted children with special needs were kept in cages, and cites poor interagency communication among parties involved in out of state adoptions.
Police believe a man seen peering into a Vermilion girls’ bedroom may have stolen underwear from two homes. A white male 30s to 40s with dark hair was seen May 17 after 1 PM. evidence includes missing garments since May 7 and a red van reported by a neighbor.
