Congress weighs nationwide voting hours shifts
Congress debates proposals to standardize voting hours across the nation to prevent premature election results from Western states. Options include opening polling at 8 am and closing at 11 pm Eastern, or closing at 10:30 pm, moving Election Day to Sunday, or adopting 24 hour voting. The effort aims to deter voter suppression of turnout by perceived election outcomes.
