Some of the clever party table appointments made me wish were a child again. There were matching tablecloths, napkins, favors hats, nosemakers, and decorations for any occasion from a circus or Wild West party to a bridal showert. Paper plates have advanced to sturdier material. Many have compartments to keep items separate. Pay per cups came in colors and patterns to prevent leaks. When setting up a table for children's party or barbeque, put out plenty of napkins. As long as we are on the subject of children's parties we may as well talk about refreshments. Simple ready-made sandwiches, ice cream and a cool drink suit the younger set. For teens, offer more substantial fare. The DESSERT shown above is a new way of serving ice cream forming a lamb by rolling in shredded coconut and shaping features with toppings.
