Fatal head on crash south of Elyria claims 24 year old

A head on collision on Rt 301 near Elyria killed 24 year old Russell Alan Tyree of 10485 LaGrange Rd after he became trapped for over two hours. Douglas Albert 26 of 1159 Garden St was treated for injuries and released. State patrol continuing investigation with preliminary reports stating Albert veered off road then struck Tyree's car.}

Police can’t identify vehicle year in crash case

Officers could not determine the model year of the vehicle involved in the crash. Albert’s truck was demolished. The Tyree vehicle’s transmission and tires were ejected and thrown more than 100 feet, according to Chief Bruce.

Ohio Chief Justice O'Neill Falls Ill After Heart Attack

Chief Justice C William O'Neill of the Ohio Supreme Court remained in serious condition in the coronary care unit at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville Tennessee. The 54 year old native of Marietta Ohio collapsed yesterday during a judicial conference in Gatlinburg. He has headed all three branches of government in Ohio and was chosen this year to be chief justice after Kingsley Taft's death.

Pro agitators imported by Ohio State campus clashes

Columbus police said professional agitators, some from California, were brought to Ohio State University by hard core radicals to spark disturbances. About 3,600 National Guardsmen and local police maintained security as a curfew was in effect and 115 people were arrested.

Man to return home after tax sale shock

Melbourne Florida AP reports a bedridden widow and husband facing eviction when a tax sale nets a $11 000 home for 15 plus court costs. Cecil Platt of Wes Melbourne bought certificates to satisfy a $2 drainage tax and plans to return the home to Vincent J Cattee. The family depended on social security and a veteran’s pension while mortgage and county taxes were paid. The case raises questions about notices from the drainage district and hospital letters.
