Striker Robbed And Stripped After Lorain Strike Ride
A 25-year-old Cleveland man, returning from strike duty at American Ship Building Co. AmShip division in Lorain, was robbed at gunpoint by a hitchhiker who forced him to strip and threw his clothes into a 37th Street ditch. He was found nude in the Hills Department Store parking lot after authorities received a tip about an abandoned car. The robber fled with $40. Eyewitnesses at a nearby gas station said a man matching the thief’s description asked for someone to kill earlier that evening.
