Investigators probe a blood-stained towel found near the DeChant home on Case Road Avon as part of the double murder case. Blood type tests were conducted. prosecutors say results exist but will not be released. Gregory DeChant is charged with the Aug 31 killings and insists two intruders attacked his family. Trial date undecided.

City quarry added to Superfund list in Ohio
Elyria officials reported city owned quarry off West River Road has been placed on the federal Superfund list to be cleaned up once Congress authorizes the program. The site, one of five in Ohio, allegedly received steel cleaning acids from Republic Steel before its 1980s closure. Congress has not reauthorized Superfund though about 150 million dollars remains for EPA operations. Mayor Keys and Councilman Bender said they were unaware of the EPA listing.
