Cathode Ray Used In Plymouth Tests
Detroit May 21 The use of cathode ray apparatus in Plymouth motor design is moving from experimental to practical testing. Plymouth engineers used tubes in 1937 acoustical studies and now apply them to test the 1953 engine, flyweight drive mounting and shaft vibration. N F Hadley, Plymouth chief engineer, says this lab tool provides valuable measurements of valve motion and engine vibration, revealing internal pressures and new insights into chassis behavior.
