NES agreed to contribute an additional 15 million dollars toward a new stadium in Cleveland, expanding funding for the project alongside existing supporters and city officials. The move aims to accelerate construction timelines and secure final approvals.
Jody Johnson advanced the runner with a sacrifice bunt in the sixth inning as Keystone defeated Hillsdale 3-0 in the Division district semifinals. The Wildcats earned a spot in the district final with solid pitching and timely hitting.

Strongsville residents fled five homes on North Marks Road as flames and thick smoke roared from a neighboring greenhouse. Darlene Schlegelmilch described large black smoke clouds drifting toward her house while firefighters tackled the burning business, Maria Garden Centers, located in Columbia Station on the Lorain County side of the road.
A Tuesday blaze at Maria Garden Centers in Columbia Station caused about 750 000 in damage. About 100 firefighters from six departments battled the fire for over two hours destroying the distribution building at 8334 N Marks Road a barn where soil and peat moss were mixed and five of eleven loading docks. One greenhouse sustained severe damage no injuries were reported and investigators from the Columbia Township Fire Department and the state fire marshal are determining the cause.
Lorain County planning officials approved rezoning Gulf Road land from residential to business to allow a Walgreens at Gulf Road and Cleveland Street. City Council must approve. The site would affect three homes and five existing businesses, with owner Donald Lear selling part of his property. Four apartments and two other business sites would also be impacted.
Hospitals reported Tuesday night that some physicians did not respond to pages as Pan AmSat paging failed. EMH officials said a backup method using office phones cellulars and PA announcements kept doctors informed while Galaxy 4 satellite lost track of Earth causing paging and media interruptions. Technicians rerouted services and considered adding another satellite in orbit.
