Drive For Funds For Band Uniforms To Pass The Goal
Elyria High School’s marching band will debut new red and grey uniforms funded by a Kiwanis Club drive. R W Butts announced $8,359.59 on hand with potential to top $8,400, well above the $8,000 goal. Door-to-door efforts raised $2,581.59, with $1,010 donated by others, totaling $3,591.59 or about 43 percent of the target. The funds cover uniforms, overcoats, a director’s outfit, and caps. the band, directors, and leaders from Kiwanis Lions Club and Junior Chamber credit many organizations for the success.

Slayer Sentenced To Life Term In Prison
James Kilrock Winston 49 of Lorain was sentenced to life in prison by a three judge court for the robbery murder of Allen Feeley 45 of Lorain on Sept 16. The court found him guilty of first degree murder and recommended mercy. Winston admitted slashing Feeley during the robbery in an alley near 17th Street and Broadway. He claimed he did not intend to kill and blamed intoxication. Banks 28 of Lorain is also charged with first degree murder. Continued on Page 2.
