Elyria police face departmental charges for violating a new pursuit rule that bars chasing motorists for misdemeanor misconduct such as DUI. In Olmsted Falls Erika Szanto and her daughter report an explosion in the basement of their Sprague Road home just after 10 PM. Firefighters from Olmsted Falls and Columbia Township extinguished a heavy blaze. no injuries were reported, cause under investigation.
