Senator Dole says compromises likely on Reagan Social Security changes and tax cut plan. Rhodes administration released a $716 million 1982 capital improvements package for Ohio colleges. Lorain County Community College would receive about $5.7 million for a Robotics Automation Training Center and renovations to the engineering building, plus security upgrades. The package also funds Ohio State University projects including a cancer institute hospital and an arthritis center, while other area allocations cover Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland State University, and lakefront improvements.
Ohio Highway Patrol found no defects in the bus that struck a line of Westlake High School students injuring nine. Trooper Ladd Carpenter said inspectors did not find issues and the report will be sent to Westlake police. Police will review with the prosecutor for possible charges as witnesses are interviewed.
