Columbia Township Works to Stop Passings of School Buses
Columbia Schools report nine incidents of drivers passing stopped buses in three months. Cameras and a 4 foot stop arm extension were added, and troopers cited three drivers directly. Two Elyria Students Face Felony Charges Over Eastern Heights Fight
Two Elyria middle school students identified as Juvenile One and Juvenile Two were charged with felonies after a fight at Eastern Heights Middle School on Thursday. Juvenile One faced assault on a school administrator and inducing panic felonies plus a misdemeanor assault count, while Juvenile Two was charged with a misdemeanor assault and felony inducing panic. Both were suspended with an recommendation for expulsion. Officer Paige Mitchell, the off duty SRO, responded to a staircase scene where juveniles clashed with staff and a student, including the Juvenile Victim and the Adult Victim.

Oberlin Police to close for Officer Neadham funeral
Oberlin Police Department will close from 7 a.m. today to 7 a.m. Sunday to allow officers to attend the funeral for Billie Neadham, a 54 year old longtime officer and school resource officer since 2010 who died May 9. A funeral service is set for 11 a.m. at Finney Chapel with a procession to Perkins Cemetery in Sandusky. nonemergency calls go to the Lorain County Sheriff and emergencies to 911.
