Lorain approves bid to pursue lakefront hotel UDAG
Lorain City Council, in a 8-3 vote, cleared the way to apply for a 1.2 million Urban Development Action Grant to fund a 10.6 million lakefront hotel and restaurant complex. The Lighthouse Landings project would include a seven story hotel, restaurants, parking, an 850 to 1,000 slip marina, beaches and park space, with eminent domain concerns raised by residents but assurances given no homes are affected. Public hearings were scheduled for later today as officials scrambled to finish UDAG paperwork.
