Blast at Pan Am terminal shocks JFK amid bomb threat
A blast ripped the Pan American World Airways Terminal at Kennedy International Airport, injuring at least one person. A Puerto Rican terrorist group allegedly telephoned a bomb threat claiming water bombs on Flight 403 to Guatemala, with 15 minutes to evacuate. The Port Authority reported the explosion occurred near a ladies room on the terminal’s second floor at 9:40 a.m. The incident followed by minutes a threatening call and clouded the day’s events amid ongoing airline security concerns.
