Burns Fatal To Workman At G. M. Plant
Harold Wayne Cole, 32, died at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a hydraulic line explosion at GM Brown Lipe Chapin Division. Fellow worker Robert Dye remains hospitalized in Elyria. Car Misses Curve On Route 57 Death of Clyde Browand Jr.
Clyde Browand Jr. 26 of Litchfield died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Elyria Memorial Hospital from injuries suffered hours earlier when his car left Route 57 two miles south of Elyria. He was alone, returning home about 3:20 a.m. after losing control at a slight curve and crashing into a tree. Rescuers freed him for over half an hour from a car wrapped around the tree. He sustained a skull fracture, a broken neck, and leg fractures. Browand worked at a General Motors plant, was engaged, and a World War II veteran who served in Okinawa and received the Purple Heart. Lorain county authorities weigh disposition for a 17 year old on parole from Lancaster industrial school after he brutal beat Dr Mary Emily Sinclair 70 a retired Oberlin mathematics professor. Miss Sinclair remained in fair condition at Allen Hospital with skull fracture and fractured nose after the Friday assault on Oberlin road. He told deputies and police he beat her when she refused to lend the car for a dance. he dumped her body then returned to drive to the event. Police arrested him early Saturday.
