Inmate fatally shot after hospital standoff in Geneva
An armed jail inmate took two nurses hostage at Northwestern Medicine Centor Hospital in Geneva Illinois after stealing a gun from a guard. A Kane County deputy said the inmate Tywon Salters 21 was shot and killed by a sheriff's officer during the standoff around 5 p.m. SWAT personnel negotiated failed and the hospital was placed on lockdown.
