A massive blast at a Phil lips Petroleum Company storage tank in Capitol Hill Oklahoma City shattered a home and threatened a crowded district. The 25,000 barrel tank toppled 100 feet, fire spread to three adjacent tanks, and smoke and water damage hit several shops. Betty Joe Watson, 2, was thrown from bed but escape uninjured aside from minor burns. Firemen contained the blaze within an hour as explosions hampered efforts.

Avery Sticko Testifies in Slaying Trial at Sandusky

Peer Of Lake Erie Rum Runners Sentenced To Two Years

Flames of unknown origin destroyed the home of Joe Carter his wife and five children on Wood street outside city limits at 3 am. Lieut Patrick Crehan and Officer Milton Obitts spotted the fire and arrived before the family evacuated. The house burned to the ground. no fire department response due to location. Obitts used a hand extinguisher to shield the neighboring house from spreading flames.

New York May 18 The giant dirigible Graf Zeppelin with seven Atlantic crossings including a world flight is slated for six similar trips this summer. Four Sites Considered for Oberlin Post Office
The United States appropriated 105000 dollars for a new Oberlin post office. Four proposed sites exist on West Main near Carpenter’s court and Vine, and on East College between Main and Pleasant. Oberlin May 13 The crane swimming pool opened for its first use on Tuesday afternoon May 12 with about eighty five girls from Oberlin College taking the inaugural swim. Senior and Junior Life Guard recipients led the first entries followed by beginners from Elyria. Dr Gertrude E Moulton offered brief remarks and thanks. The pool’s official opening is set for June 15 with Mable Lee as speaker and Barbara Crane Monaghan hoped to attend.
