Church sues to halt spending from 100-year-old trust
South Congregational Church of New Britain seeks to block further use of a $714,000 trust left by Ray Leach to his wife and to have New Britain National Bank removed as trustee. The suit claims $91,000 was improperly distributed to care for Mrs Leach's sister Florence Peterson and alleges extravagant expenditures. The filing comes as Probate Judge Edward J. Januszewski weighs whether the bank properly accounted for the funds.
