John Bohannon, 5-7, 150, overrode rejection after rejection to become an all-star and hall of famer. The Elyria native, praised for smart, tough play, faced cuts in Little League, high school and college but persisted in basketball, football and baseball. He later played in Cleveland’s top amateur league before returning to work in Bendix sales.
