LeBron James tallies 25 points as Cleveland Cavaliers overcome an 18 point third quarter deficit to defeat the Atlanta Hawks 104 93. The Cavs rally with steady defense and timely baskets to secure the win in a Monday NBA game.
In Game 2 the Cavaliers shot NBA record 25 three pointers to take a 2-0 series lead over the Hawks 123 to 98. Friday's game saw Channing Frye come off the bench to drill seven threes and add 27 points in a 121 108 Cavaliers win.
The Cavaliers edged the Hawks 100 to 99 to sweep their second straight series. They return home awaiting the Miami Toronto winner, with Toronto leading 2-1.
Cavaliers finish four game series by hitting 43 percent from three, 16 of 37, led by Kevin Love 8-for-15. LeBron James, J.R. Smith, Kyrie Irving struggled from deep. team set record for threes in a four game series while sweeping Atlanta. Millsap notes three point shots are a killer.
Jeff Teague kept in the game after a late flagrant foul on James, as the league opted not to upgrade the penalty to a suspension. Teague scored five points and played little in the final stretch. Kevin Durant scored 41 as Oklahoma City downed San Antonio 111 97 to tie the Western Conference semifinal at two games apiece. Westbrook added 14 points and 15 assists, while Dion Waiters and Steven Adams contributed key plays as the Thunder shot 50.6 percent. Spurs leaders Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge posted 21 and 20 points respectively.
Saturday scores had Toronto edging Miami 95 91 and Portland topping Golden State 120 108 to put Toronto up 2 1 and Golden State down 2 1. Sunday Cleveland swept Atlanta 100 99 while Oklahoma City tied San Antonio 2 2. Next games list includes Toronto at Miami and Golden State at Portland.
