Spectacular Blast In New York City
A massive explosion near the Park Central Hotel in New York City hurled steam, water and debris skyward. A 25 year old model Connie Renault suffered severe burns and possible fractures and was hospitalized at Roosevelt. The Cocoanut Grove nightclub on the 26th floor was crowded at the time.

Four Year Old Boy Injured In Traffic Accident
Roberts Wallace Smith, age 4, son of Malcolm Smith of 110 Princeton Avenue, was treated at Elvira Memorial Hospital for head and facial contusions after a traffic accident on East Avenue near Fourth Street.
