Elyrian Oufferd Devere Injuries In County Accident
Henry Ruhl aged 64 of 212 Fourth Street sustained serious injuries when his right arm and leg were crushed beneath a county water tank cart. He, an employee, was walking beside the wagon as it descended West River road during cement mixing for culvert repairs and was thrown under the wheels after tripping on a rock while attempting to brake. He was taken to the Elyria Clinic for X rays. A separate fire alarm was caused by a cigarette landing on a hardware store awning at 557 Broad Street about 10:50 p.m. Thursday. firemen extinguished the blaze with water and left a small hole in the awning.

Mrs. William Szabo of Indian Hollow Road injured in an evening crash at the Butternut Ridge and Indian Hollow roads intersection. Szabo family of four were en route to Elyria when a truck veered toward the ditch to avoid a collision, causing the trailer to strike the Szabo automobile.
