Frank J Dellipoala 86 of Lorain died April 27 2016 at Mercy New Life Hospice He was born April 5 1930 in Lorain and served as a Navy explosive specialist on the USS Lowry He retired from USG of Westlake He leaves two sons Frank and Joseph of Akron and sister Josephine Schmidt A private service was held and he was buried at Calvary Cemetery In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made by paying respect to someone they meet

Wilma C Schwed Lilley 82 formerly of Grafton and Winter Haven FL passed away May 5 2016 in North Ridgeville. She taught remedial reading and 4th grade at Midview Local Schools retired in 1988 and co ran Designer's Choice Flooring sold 2011. Survivors include two sons grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation May 9 at Grafton United Methodist Church with service to follow Burial at Butternut Ridge Cemetery. Memorials to Grafton United Methodist Church or Crossroads Hospice. Eugene Demchak 88 of North Ridgeville died May 5 2016 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born May 10 1927 in Philipsburg PA and worked 28 years as a claims adjuster for State Auto Mutual Insurance. He served in the Korean War era in the U S Army and Air Force. He was active in Ss Peter and Paul Orthodox Church and in local veterans groups. Survived by wife Jo Ann daughter Barbara son James grandchildren and many siblings and nephews. Services May 10 2016 and May 11 at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery Rittman. A higher court ruled a lower court properly granted new trials for Eugene Johnson Jr Derrick Wheatt and Laurese Glover who served nearly 20 years for the 1995 Clifton Hudson Jr. murder in East Cleveland. Prosecutors appeal overturned and the men remain free on bond pending further proceedings.
Former Ohio Highway Patrol post commander William Elschlager is charged in Delaware County with stealing two guns that were evidence. One gun reportedly should have been destroyed and the other was returned to its owner. He faces separate stalking charges in Washington County.

David Andrew Dawson of North Ridgeville formerly of LaGrange died May 4 2016 after a brief illness. He was born December 1 1960 in Elyria and lived in Lorain County all his life a Keystone High School graduate and hardware sales worker. He survived by his mother Loretta Dawson and brother Brian D Lawson and was preceded in death by his father Arthur K Dawson and sister Christine Marie Dawson.
