Widow says love drove man to fatal Amherst Park shooting

Ola Faye Grigsby testified Norman Barnes 59 pursued her, offering to leave her husband G W Grigsby and family. Barnes allegedly shot Grigsby with a .38 revolver, leaving him dead. Barnes is jailed on a $50,000 bond as investigators interview neighbors.

Center Ridge Road eyed for widening and bike paths

North Ridgeville Mayor Floyd Peace plans a 1 million project to widen and repave Center Ridge Road with bike paths on both sides and a traffic study to ease intersections. City share expected at 100 000 with funding from federal state county and city sources, aimed to start spring 1988 pending council approval.

Michelle Stone a 26 year old Amherst resident owned a 100 pound female wolf named Lacey kept since she was four weeks old. After the animal broke from a yard pen, Amherst police chief William Hall shot it as it prowled the Crown Hill area biting two men including a neighbor. The incident sparked questions about the animal’s behavior and safety of residents.
