Treaties Question Put Directly To Hitler
London reported a British inquiry to Adolf Hitler asking if Germany now views itself as equal to other powers and capable of genuine treaties. The questionnaire, shown to Foreign Minister Neurath by Sir Eric Phipps, also queried Germany’s stance on Versailles and Locarno terms and possible air force limits in a Western European defense pact.
