Designer pancakes rise at church breakfast event
Jerry Huelsenbeck and a team at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the South Hills in Pittsburgh will flip designer pancakes for Mother’s Day. Using plastic squeeze bottles and Krusteaz mix, they craft turtles, dinosaurs, barbarians and even Barbie faces, aiming to raise funds for CARE. Proceeds from the May 10 breakfast support the charity.

Vertical Cabernets Highlight Steltzner Aging and Taste
The tasting gathers Steltzner Cabernet vintages from 1995 to 2000, plus current releases, to compare aging trajectories. Structured as an informal vertical, tasters note deep opaque color, evolving fruit and oak interplay, with 1995 showing forward plum and oak, 1998 and 2000 offering lush dark fruit and tannic structure, suggesting potential 10 to 15 years more aging.
