Dunkirk Evacuation Remembered With Music and Tears
In Dover England Les Tyler recalls May 1940 near Arras and Dunkirk when he was wounded and evacuated on foot then by ship. He played harmonica to steady nerves as bullets and Stukas raked the beach. Only 20 of his 1 060-man Northamptonshire Regiment survived. Dover honors the Dunkirk memory with concerts dances exhibits and a new historic site near the 12th century castle.
