Power outages hit Oberlin and surrounding areas
More than 12 000 residents lost power in two outages. Oberlin city with 8300 customers went dark about 11 20 am for half an hour then again before 1 pm for about an hour due to an Ohio Edison feed line problem. 2910 Ohio Edison customers in South Amherst and Amherst briefly lost power.

Robbery at East 32nd Street Home Seizes $450 Cell
Two teenagers were robbed of 450 dollars and a cell phone after a man barged into their Lorain apartment on East 32nd Street at 11 10 p m. The suspect described as Hispanic with a tattoo on his neck demanded cash and struck one victim with a gun. He fled after taking the money and phone. Detective Steven Curry leads the case.

Oberlin Council Advances Sewer Upgrades and Historic Gasholder Plan
The Oberlin City Council approves using Community Development Block Grant funds to modernize sewers in the southeast quadrant, targeting manholes and a brick drain built before 1900.
