Three Mile Island Restart Aims For July
Whippany New Jersey AP reports GPA expects the Three Mile Island Unit 1 reactor to resume operation possibly in July pending NRC approval. Chairman William G. Kuhns says the restart is key to GPA’s recovery from the 1979 accident, noting both units have been shut since Unit 2’s accident and the Supreme Court removed a major obstacle by not requiring residents' psychological impact studies.
