State lists 10 Lorain County homes with lead hazard orders
Ohio health officials published a list of 540 homes where lead hazards prompted vacate orders after child poisoning. In Lorain County six homes are in Lorain, three in Elyria and one in Wellington, with five vacant and five occupied. Covell said landlords are being contacted to plan fixes and placards mark uninhabitable properties until resolved.

Pioneer Academy planned at Elyria High School
Elyria Schools will house Pioneer Academy next school year as an online program with a district presence to help students not on track to graduate.
