Neighbor rescues girl from blaze on 15th Street Elyria
A neighbor, Betty Janowicz, ran into a smoke filled home at 212 E. 15th St to pull 7 year old Alonda Williams from a back room as a fire started by perfume and matches damaged the residence. Alonda survived in fair condition at Elyria Memorial Hospital. The blaze caused about 35 000 dollars in home damage and 12 000 dollars in contents.

I-90 Crash Kills Radio Host Wild Bill Wilkins
William G. Wilkins 35 of Lorain died when his car struck a parked tractor trailer on Interstate 90 near Hilliard Road at about 3 a.m. The truck driver, Randy Kengersdky 26 of Falls Creek Pa, was uninjured. Wilkins hosted afternoon drive at WHK from 1979 to 1982 and had prior radio work in Cleveland and Lorain. Funeral arrangements are by Devin Funeral Home.

Judge to rule on Flagner murder letters evidence
