Slain nurse and gas station owner found in Pasadena Ave home
Police found a 37 year old man, Charles D Piazza, and 40 year old Edith Schneider shot dead in the living room of Schneider’s Pasadena Avenue residence. Investigators say it appears to be a double homicide with no forced entry. The bodies were discovered about 8:30 a.m. by Piazza’s business associate. Authorities note motive is unknown and allege the killer was someone close to the victims.

Victim of Slaying Tied to Criminal Record in Pasadena
Charles D Piazza found slain at a Pasadena Avenue home this morning. He had prior charges including drug trafficking and theft. In 1978 he was one of three men charged with trafficking drugs after authorities seized about $100,000 worth of high grade marijuana from Colombia at his trucking firm, ECK Miller Transportation Corp. He later pleaded guilty to attempting to traffic marijuana and received a suspended 210 year sentence with three years probation. Piazza had been indicted in 1975 on a jeans theft case but was later exonerated. He once led the Elyria Lorain Owners and Drivers Club of Ohio and helped in the 1974 trucker protest. He worked with his father at Piazza Produce before starting his own trucking business.
