Salem sisters vanish and are found dead in Tolerton's Lake
In Salem Ohio two girls Elizabeth Baker 14 and Viola Baker 12 daughters of Mrs Frances Baker were missing since Friday morning. Their shoes and Viola's hat were found near the lake. Police and firemen with volunteers conducted a night long search and dragged Tolerton's Lake until the bodies were recovered.

Seven Trade Union League officials rode at the rear as the group aimed for Akron, with a brief stop at Northfield.
