Fire caused an estimated 500 damage to Mrs. Carter Birdie’s car at 1014 West 21st Street as gasoline leaked from a faulty fuse line onto the exhaust manifold. Birdie stopped the car at West 32nd Street and Oakdale Avenue after flames began. Unidentified witness reported the alarm. firefighters covered 20 minutes to put out the blaze.
