Bergen County blue laws face end as taxes push reform
In Paramus and across Bergen County the Sunday shopping ban could end to boost sales tax revenue. Gov. Christie’s budget calls for lifting the blue laws starting July 1, risking police strain and the loss of a long standing rest day valued by residents. Proponents say lifting the ban could add 3,200 jobs and over 1.1 billion dollars in annual retail sales.
