Eric D Chapman longtime Elyria assistant postmaster for 36 years died at 4 25 am one week after his 68th birthday. He started as assistant postmaster on March 1 1888 and retired March 1 1924. Born March 7 1868 in Brunswick Maine he lived in Lorain County 60 years. He is survived by three sons and other relatives. Funeral and church services set in LaPorte and Elyria with burial at Butternut Ridge Cemetery.

Man Lost 24 Hours On Ice Floe Is Safe At Home
PETOSKY March 28 Carl Cecil Booth was lost on the stormswept ice of Lake Michigan for nearly 24 hours. He reached shore at Seven Mile Point before dark and was welcomed by Indians with food and hot drink. He drifted from Three Mile reef after the ice broke and rode the floe until the wind shifted, then made solid ice and home. Booth said he was none the worse and feared for his safety during the tumultuous drift.

March 25 Lorain Mills of the National Tube Company received a 1,500,069 order for seamless pipe for the Indiana Detroit natural gas line.
