Moen Elyria plant approves contract amid 92 layoffs

Moen workers vote 105 to 63 to approve a three year contract with UAW Local 101 keeping 83 jobs in Elyria while shifting most production to Sanford North Carolina and a small portion to China. Layoffs begin June 1 with severance, health and life insurance based on seniority and up to 500 dollars for retraining.

Lorain Woman Sentenced for Letting Mother Rot to Death

Lenore Flontek, 52, was sentenced by Common Pleas Judge Thomas W dJanas to two to 10 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in her mother Rosella Flontek 79 death from bed sores and pneumonia.
