Plant expansion gets federal grant for sewage project
Old WELLINGTON approves a 59700 grant for a sewage disposal plant expansion and seeks bids for a 597000 project. U S Rep Charles Mosher relayed the grant and the Water Development Authority will provide 30 percent outright and 70 percent loan relief over 20 years at 3.75 percent. Plans by engineer Lester Poggemeyer of Bowling Green project capacity to serve 8000 people by 2000, up from 4140 residents now, with current facilities adequate for about 2500.

Wellington Board Awards Pipe Contract and Sets Water Rates
The Wellington Board awarded 5 569 to Ashland Municipal Supply for 8 and 6 inch cast iron water pipes for North Mill Street and Johns Street hydrants with 1 000 feet of 8 inch and 300 feet of 6 inch line. They kept water rates at the Wellington Mobile Homes Park minimum. Preparations begin on East Street sewer work once weather permits.
