Basketball campaign Cubaers thrill Lorain area fans
Inland Conference champions Columbia led a strong season with an 18 0 regular schedule under Bruce Hurley and stars Dan Hagen and Clark Ashles. The Raiders reached the Canton District crown and East Regional runnerup while Hagen Ashles and Hurley earned state recognition for a 23 1 record and fourth rank. Lorain Catholic, Admiral King, Findlay, Midview, and Clearview Midview projections highlighted a tight Buckeye and North Central mix. Midview under Jim Vincent posted 15 5 in his first season, with Oberlin and Elyria Catholic dramatic showings shaping a memorable campaign.
