A vacant three story brick and stucco building on Urbana's town square collapsed early Wednesday. The collapse blocked U.S. 68 as engineers assessed damage and feared more failure from truck vibrations. The building housed apartments and a newsstand and had been condemned last week after structural problems.
The words of Dr Sam Sheppard, dead for 30 years, were read in a Cuyahoga County courtroom as part of the wrongful imprisonment case brought by his son. Prosecutors seek to show motive, adultery, and possible intruder violence while Sheppard’s testimony covered the night of the murder and his arrest.
Michael Hospital in Cleveland stopped admitting patients on Wednesday and will close its emergency room Friday. Primary Health Systems Inc of Wayne Pa said the halt and pending ER shutdown stem from its earlier plan to close and sell the facility to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. City leaders and councilors have sought an alternative to the closure.
