Bacteria-made interferon shows promise against cancer
Preliminary results indicate a new bacterial interferon is highly pure, inexpensive, and enters cells easily, with 25-40 percent anti cancer responses in three cancers and strong antiviral action. Side effects resemble the blood derived version, but production cost could drop dramatically. Researchers caution findings are early and more study is needed.
