Plane crash survivor killed in Kentucky train collision

Elyrian Tops State Exam For Engineers In Training
Donovan G. Schuster of Elyria scored the highest grade in the state among engineers in training on the January state examinations. The 26 year old, born in Elyria and an Ohio Northern University graduate, earned 97.5 in civil engineering and led the 335 engineers and surveyors in training to pass. Two Lorain County men also qualified for registration: Lewis W. Hall and G E Sutila. Hall, a WWII veteran, was among 21 surveyors to qualify for full registration. The report noted Schuster's Bronze Star and his employment with Fairfield Engineering Co. at Marion since last August.

Wellington. William Webber, 85, of Arkansas, died en route to Allen Hospital Oberlin after touching high tension wires on Arthur Handley farm in Huntington while trimming trees this forenoon. He had worked for Union Wire Clearance Co in Lorain for three weeks clearing LMRE lines. Firemen aided with a resuscitator but he could not be revived. Body taken to Curtis E. Truman Funeral Home pending arrangements.

Bond Issue Not To Be Submitted At Primary Election
Prosecutor Paull Mikus ruled that county commissioners cannot submit a bond issue for Pleas ent View Sanitarium improvements at the primary election. The board will await an engineer estimate on exterior repairs with a rough $50,000 to $60,000 cost. Since the bond cannot be voted at the primary, urgent work may proceed this spring using existing funds, including about $15,000 for south wall masonry.
